frequently asked questions…about family sessions

how long is the session typically?

generally about an hour and a half or so. that can depend on the location (if we are walking around a lot or if it’s mainly based in one spot, etc). It can also be based on the ages of the children. Younger children may tire out and need to wrap up quicker and on the flip side they may require run around and need some hang out time so we are more casual about the session and let them burn energy while also documenting so it might not be as fast. But an hour and a half is a good average time, though.

what should we wear?

we have a pinterest board on our main page to help with that, top left hand tab! we want you all to feel comfortable and feel great in what you’re wearing. we also know that you want to look nice together too. we love color! and we also love some great neutrals like grays, creams, etc. feel free to mix up patterns and colors. as long as you aren’t clashing then you’ll probably be fine! there’s no need for you to match or everyone wear the same kind of something. that’s why we provide the pinterest boards for you to glance through and gather some inspiration. sometimes the moms like to text cara dee also and get a second opinion and that works well too!

how many can i include in the session?

family sessions count as 5 people or less. as we add in more we add $15/person. we have done lots of extended family pictures and for that it may be best to just email us  to figure out a pricing that will work best depending on the amount of family members you are wanting to include in the session.

do i get a disc or can i buy prints?

both! our sessions include a disc that comes with the print release.  but we can also upload them to our instaproofs site so that family or friends can go on and buy images too without you having to be the go-between on the ordering etc. just let us know if you’d like that and we can upload those no problem!
