cara dee...life tidbits.
i am a christ follower. i try to let that influence my life and decisions on a regular basis, though fail often.
i am originally from owensboro, ky...home of the bar-b-que festival.
i could probably eat cilantro-dense salsa and dr. pepper every night.
i am often made fun of about my love of garlic. it makes everything better.
i once had to have the heimlich maneuvor performed on me when i accidently swallowed an entire peppermint.
i got married to my high school sweetheart three weeks after we graduated college. having on and off dated for eight years.
i'm crazy about liquids. i try really hard to like water. but really ANY other liquids would be my preference: smoothies, dr. pepper, hot tea, hot chocolate, iced chais, milkshakes, orange juice, sweet tea...
i eat my oreos in threes...i eat the center out of the first one and then dunk each half in milk...the other two i dunk whole. it works for me.
i have become slightly obsessive about paperclips...i have them in all shapes and colors. i contribute it to my general love of ALL school supplies which are unnecessary during this part of my life. paperclips i need, though. i buy in bulk.
i used to have my own greeting card company that sold pre-packaged, stamp and confetti included, greeting cards. they were sold in gifts shops in lexington, ky, evansville, in, berea, ky and a small beach area in south carolina. it was called deesigns.
i was extremely blessed with wonderful parents and two older sisters. one sister has provided me the opportunity to be an aunt five times, and the other has made me an aunt once over now.
the only "accidents" of sorts in my life have included: a water gun being accidentally thrown in my face causing five stitches split between my upper eye and lip. having three trees collapse on me and five other friends while camping, causing 7 staples in my head and arm in a sling. and hitting a deer head on while driving the interstate, causing the total loss of my favorite honda, goldie.
that should do it for now.

cara dee...photographic tidbits.
i remember my first camera. i was eight. it was for christmas. it was
a cheesy vivitar. i have been stalking people with such devices ever since.
i graduated with an art studio degree, emphasis in photography.
i interned for over a year with a well-seasoned local lexington photographer. became her associate for over a year before breaking off onto my own about three-four years ago.
i shoot with all canon equipment. you either love that or hate that about me. : )
my style is photojournalistic, although i understand the need for classic set ups when requested.
i love people. i love the details that contribute to who they are and having the opportunity to photograph those is beyond a pleasure, it's a dream realized.
almost ever saturday i am given the privelege og being there for one of the biggest days of your life and while i'm not always family OR even your best friend, i am given that same window into what makes you and all that surrounds you, special.
